In our indian culture, a guy always scared of his family even when he doesn't give a fuck about anything else, at least until he becomes independent, forget about growing hair, if your hair gets slightly longer than normal length, they will make you feel terrible until you cut it to the normal length.
But why our family make us feel like that?
Because they are also afraid that what society will think about them, as per society's perspective, men should not have long hair, only women can have long hair, if you are growing your hair as a man, you are crossing society's ideological line, in such situation society will point finger at your upbringing which is done by your family.

Means fear of being ridiculed by friends, “ so you want to be a girl” this is the most common phrase you will hear while growing your hair out, and there is many more like “ you look like a thief” “so you are becoming a baba(monk)” etc.. You will hear time to time, and that hurts right?, but it's not their fault, like everyone they are also caged by society's ideology from childhood. So don't take it to your heart.
Why society judge us?
Because they don't have enough courage to do something like this, they are caged by their own thinking, when you do something outside of their ideology, they think you're acting idiotic, they themselves don't have enough understanding to know that they are acting idiotic by ignoring their own inner voice and believing in their fake ideology,and when they meet someone who doesn't believe in their ideology, they start to make fun of that person and say wrong thing.
Should men grow long hair?
